Mended Heart Records (MHR) is a project-based collective that operates as an independent label.  Based in the talent mecca of Asheville, NC, Mended Heart brings artists and bands together for recording sessions and live events.  Our label focuses on creating opportunites to explore, refine, and share original music while exposing the collaborative nature of our musical families to help local and regional music scenes grow with positive reputations.

Our primary goal, on the business level, is to create a multi-genre sound recording catalog that we will market to commercial entities in the industry for music licensing.  Pending placements, royalties earned by the selections will be shared between the label and the recording artist on a 50/50 percentage basis. Artists will always retain performing arts copyrights to their compositions and lyrics.  We have jumpstarted this sound recording catalog and overall awareness of our organization by recording a special compilation CD for charity.  

On February 14, 2011, in conjunction with MHR's one year anniversary, we released the first installment of Mended Heart's Band Together Compilation for Charity; a project that features the music of 14 local and regional bands together on the same album.  Unlike most compilations, where tracks are chosen and pulled from unrelated releases, the artists all make their recordings in the same studio for the same cause.  In a way, the participating 14 bands create one album together. This project will be an annual undertaking with our official partner, Band Together NC and our affiliate studio, The Eagle Room.  

As Mended Heart grows, we aim to attract larger acts to participate in projects like the annual compilation, fostering an environment to garner national exposure for our story, affiliated artists and our partners.
