A compilation CD, featuring 14 rising bands, is recorded for charity each year.

Unlike most compilations, where tracks are chosen and pulled from unrelated releases, the artists all record in the same studio for the same cause. In a way, the participating 14 acts make one album together. Recording sessions are held ongoing at MHR's affiliate studio, The Eagle Room in Weaverville, NC.  

The project features exclusive tracks from each artist that can't be found anywhere else!
Songs may be unreleased fan-favorites, alternate versions of tunes, or selections that show another side of the artist's creativity.  The resulting variety-filled CD is duplicated and digitally distributed with all CD proceeds to benefit Band Together NC and their annual charity partner (2011- Alliance Medical Ministry).  

Mended Heart and Band Together pursue full media and press coverage of this special project, the release of which corresponds to Mended Heart's anniversary (February 14th - Valentine's Day) with campaigns to promote the music through Band Together's annual live concert event.  Artists featured on the compilation CD may be chosen to take part in the concert event and will also have their song added to Mended Heart's Sound Recording Catalog for potential licensing opportunities in the future.  

The participating acts for Mended Heart's Band Together Compilation for Charity (2011) are The Mantras, Vertigo Jazz Project, Josh Blake's Juke Box, The Ocean, Moses Atwood (with Michael Libramento), Uncle Mountain, Now You See Them, Dopapod, Agent 23, Taste., Brushfire Stankgrass, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, The Archrivals, and Aaron Woody Wood!

Artists who record in The Eagle Room are always invited to become a part of Mended Heart Records through our growing catalog of high-quality sound recordings.  

The music from projects that Mended Heart sponsors, like the annual compilation for charity, is added under exclusive publishing permissions.  Outside clients have the option of having their music added under non-exclusive permissions.  Either way, the good people at Mended Heart sign an agreement with the artists to split all earnings 50/50.

The Sound Recording catalog has not been published online yet as we are waiting to reach a certain number of recordings, but when we take the catalog online, people will be able to hear 30 second samples of every sound recording we've made.  Commercial entities interested in licensing a song will be given a password to another page with full streaming audio that is searchable by genre, mood, and artist.  We hope to help artists get their music into the commercial market and generate steady income that they can use to promote their sound!
